What a hidden gem we found this lovely holiday cottage on the recommendation of a close family friend the former station waiting rooms are now two-holiday cottages both sleep 4 Our Cottage was Blue Bell Cottage and we could not fault anything about the setup or anything about the location the cottage had everything you would need for a self-catering holiday it is very clear a lot of money and thought have been invested by the owners to ensure that their guests will have a enjoyable stay
Our very first visit to Whitwell Station where we stayed in Bluebell Cottage for a weekend break. We were both absolutely delighted with the accommodation which was wonderfully presented and very comfortable and peaceful in a most amazing setting and stunning views.
Bluebell Cottage *****
Had a lovely short break. Cottage was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Everything we needed was supplied. (Apart from egg cups!) Beautiful views from the garden overlooking the fields and hills. Great walks right from the door. Left our car there from the very start. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and shortbread biscuits a welcome touch. We will be back!
We keep coming back because of the lovely accommodation, the glorious views, and the peace and quiet.
This was our fifth visit to Whitwell Station, but the first since change of owners. We keep coming back because of the lovely accommodation, the glorious views, and the peace and quiet.
A wonderful location for getting away from it all. A perfect place to sit, and inhale the Beautiful, and always changing, views of Niton, Gore, & St Catherine's, Downs, from the front of the cottages, with a glass of wine, a G&T (if you like Gin, try the Local Mermaid Gin), or just a cup of tea.
Fantastic walks, literally from the front door, and ideally located for visiting the Back of the Wight, as well as the rest of the island. The Island is one of my favourite places to return to (OK, I am biased as I am Isle of Wight, born and bred), and this location is one of the best places to stay, in my opinion anyway.
Nice quiet location with a wonderful outlook. Lovely place you could not wish for more.
We spent a very pleasant week with our Dutch friends, in Primrose Cottage. Very nicely converted with a superb view across the village below to the hills opposite. Uniquely converted using the character of the original building both outside and inside, with railway memorabilia in character. Well maintained, clean and tidy, with good facilities and outdoor undercover seating on the former platform.
Very peaceful with a very nice local public house with friendly staff and very nice food. Highly recommended.
We hope to return in the future.
Excellent in every respect
Excellent in every respect - highly recommend.
"Lovely weekend catching up with family and friends. Highly recommend Whitwell Station accommodation. Everything you need is available. Beautiful views when the cloud cleared. Will be returning later in the year."
Great location for walks and cycling
"We had a really peaceful stay here, the location is in a quiet village not far from Ventnor on the south coast. It's a great location for lots of countryside walks and cycle tracks on the doorstep."
